For those of you who don’t know, I lost my singing voice to a brain tumor years ago. While not curable, doctors now think it may be manageable and today is my second treatment. In many ways, I am a better voice coach and perhaps a better person because of this personal tragedy, but (despite all odds) the hope I might sing again has remained hidden in my heart. The attached poem was written early in that journey, before the cause of my vocal loss was discovered. Now, a way to manifest that dream of singing again seems possible, so I offer this poem as an open declaration, regardless of the final outcome.
